If you own multiple devices and you wish to have the Cammy app on each of them for ease of viewing, you are able to log in to your account on multiple devices.
If you own two or more devices and want to view Cammy on them, you will need to take note of the main device setting in your Home Alarm. This will ensure that they system is tracking the correct device.
Cammy offers a range of ways to alert you of an intruder. You can choose all or between email, phone notification or phone call to notify you of a person when your Home Alarm is armed. For some guidance on how to set up your alerts please see our Home Alarm guide looking at pages 7 and 21 specifically.
Cammy not only has the capability to alert you when you are away from home or at work but it also records any motion detected when the cameras are on. This other motion is called events. You can view all your events from up to 30 days ago in the cameras tab of the app. Events are not alerts, they are simply recorded motion. Alerts on the other hand will notify you of a person on the premises and this is dependent on your Home Alarm settings.
In the app you are able to change the order that your cameras appear. To do this, go to the Cameras tab and tap on the Up/Down arrows on the top right-hand side of the screen to change the order of your cameras.
From the Cammy App you are able to change the image disposition, if you have mounted the camera upside down. To do this, simply follow the steps below:
- Go to the Cameras tab
- Tap Settings underneath the camera you wish to adjust
- Go to Advanced settings
- Toggle Flip image vertically or Flip image horizontally
Cammy allows you to share your cameras, you can share your Cammy cameras with anyone you wish. Once the camera is shared, the user will be able to view the motion events from that camera along with the camera's live view feed. The user will not be added to your Home Alarm – if you wish to add someone to your Home Alarm, please see this section.
Sharing a camera is quite simple. Ask the person you wish to share the cameras with to download the Cammy app and create an account using their personal email address. Next, open the Cammy app on your device. Tap Settings underneath the camera you wish to share and enter the email address your friend used to create their Cammy account. Once this is done, the shared cameras will automatically appear in their Cammy app.
From the app you are able to download events into an MP4 file, which will be forwarded to your email. To do this open the event you wish to download, tap More on the top right-hand side of the screen and tap on Export Event. Shortly after, you will receive an email with the footage attached to it. You can then download the footage which comes as a link in the email, and share it on social media.
If you would like to delete events from the app, you can delete all the events related to a specific camera in one go. To do so, go to the Cameras tab, tap on the camera you wish to delete the events for, then tap Delete on the top right-hand side of the screen. Please note, once the events are deleted, they cannot be recovered.

Cammy Home Alarm uses a technology called geofencing. A geofence is a virtual perimeter for a real-world geographic area. The geofence will be set up around the area where the cameras are located, and the alarm will automatically arm/disarm when you enter or leave the geofence area.
In order for you to set up your Home Alarm to suit you we have made setting up your alarm as easy as possible. To understand all the features and their settings, please see our Home Alarm guide. This will help you decide what is the best Cammy alarm for you.
If you have more than one device logged into your account, do make sure that you use the main device setting. Select main device for the device that you take with you everywhere (e.g. your mobile phone). Cammy reads your location using geofencing and automatically arms/disarms the alarm based on your main device's location.
Cammy recommends that you share your Home Alarm with each person that you wish to be included on your Home Alarm will be added to the geofence equation of the auto arm/disarm feature, be notified of alarms and have access to view the Home Alarm history.
Cammy recommends that you add household members and anyone you wish to the specific home alarm so that Cammy can automatically arm the alarm when everyone is out or disarm if someone returns.
To share your Home Alarm, ask the person you wish to share the alarms with to download the Cammy app and create an account using their personal email address. Next, open the Cammy app on your device. Tap Settings underneath the alarm you wish to share and enter the email address your friend used to create their Cammy account. Once this is done, the shared alarms will automatically appear on their Cammy app.
You can have access to live view as long as your cameras and phone are connected to a stable internet connection.
When in live view, you can connect to and view a real time feed from each of your cameras.
Your live view features depend on what your camera model supports. For example, if your camera has pan, tilt and zoom functions, you will be able to make the most of them within live view. The same thing applies to audio features, if the camera model supports 2 way audio, live view will have those functions to support your camera.
For cameras that can pan and tilt you will be able to set a fixed position for your camera in live view. To do so, select Pan when in live view. See Camera Fixed Locations setting for more information.
Once the connection to live view has been fully established, you can pan and tilt your Penguin camera by tapping on the manoeuvre buttons that appear.
As well as this, a microphone button appears that you can use just like a walkie-talkie. To talk, simply tap on the button and to listen, tap again.
You can also add preset locations for your camera – by selecting a certain location, the camera will look that way. For example you can have one location set as "Door" and another as "Dining". When you select "Door", the camera will automatically look towards the door and when you select "Dining", the camera will look towards the dining area. This can be used to avoid moving your camera manually all the time. Please note, this setting is only available for cameras that support pan and tilt.
You can control when your cameras record events. When your alarm is disarmed, you can choose to:
- "No, always record": Cameras will keep recording motion detected events but will not alert you.
- "Yes, turn off cameras when disarmed": Cameras will stop capturing motion detected events until the alarm is armed again. This is a handy setting, in case you or your family members feel camera shy and would rather have the cameras off when you are home.
If you would like to have different cameras with different privacy settings you will need to create different Home Alarms with your personal preferences.
