Congratulations on your new Cammy Camera Based Alarm system!
Setting up your cameras will only take a few minutes. Use the steps below to get started.
The first step to securing your home or business with your new Cammy system is to make sure your phone or tablet is connected to your Wi-Fi network, and that you have your Wi-Fi password available. Also, if you have a dual band router, be sure that you are NOT connected to the 5G network for the setup process, use your 2.4 network instead.
Next, you will need to download our application onto your smartphone or tablet device. If you are using an Apple device, you can install it directly from the App Store. If you are using an Android device, it will be from the Play Store. Our app is called Cammy - Camera Based Alarm System and the icon has a white background with a blue shield.
Once it is finished downloading, open the Cammy App on your phone and login with the email and password you used to set up your account. If you have forgotten your password or have not set one up yet, click Recover Password and you will get a password reset link sent to your email inbox.
If you have not already done so, take one of your cameras out of the box and use the supplied power cord to plug it into a wall outlet or power source. The camera will say “Hi, I’m Cammy” and you will see a green light start blinking on the back. In the box there is also an ethernet cable. Keep this cable handy because you may need it to connect the camera to your Wi-Fi router during setup.
Now that you are connected to Wi-Fi, signed in to the app, and have powered up one of your cameras, it’s time to configure the camera to your account. When you open the Cammy app your screen will read “Welcome to Cammy.” Click on the blue button that says Add a camera to get started.
The app will lead you through a number of steps to configure the camera to your account as well as your Wi-Fi. Tip: be sure to take your time entering your Wi-Fi password and double-check it, if it is entered incorrectly the camera will not set up!
You will eventually see a screen that says “Awesome.” Once you reach this step, the setup process is finished and you can move on to your next camera.
To add a second camera once you are finished setting up the first, you will click the icon of a camera with a plus sign at the top of your screen. It will then walk through the setup steps once again for the second camera.
Once you have both of your cameras configured, you can set up your Cammy Hub. The Hub allows your cameras to record continuous video when motion is detected and, when connected to a monitor, the Hub will show a live stream of your cameras.
Begin by connecting the power cord to the Hub and plugging into a power source near your router. The power cord plugs into the round port on the back of the Hub at the very bottom. You will see lights on the front of the Hub when it is powered up. Then, use the supplied ethernet cable to connect the Hub to an available port on your router.
You will set up the Hub in the Cammy app by going to the More tab in the bottom right of your screen. Select Cammy Hub and then press Enable Hub.
Now go back to the Cameras page by clicking on the Cameras icon in the bottom left of your screen. Select the camera with a plus sign icon at the top of your screen and when it asks which device you are setting up, select Hub.
The app will walk you through the setup process. Be sure to add both of your cameras to the Hub when it gives you an option to select devices.
The Hub needs to remain connected to your router in order to operate. Once it is set up, you will be able to watch your recorded events in continuous video from the Cammy app right on your phone or tablet. Or, connect the Hub to a TV or monitor via HDMI cable to see live snapshots of both of your cameras at once.
