When you open the Cammy app you will see a menu bar across the bottom of your screen containing the following options: Cameras, Timeline, Liveview (circle icon in the middle), Alarms, and More.
On the cameras tab you will see all of your cameras listed by name. You can click on each camera to view all recorded events for that camera.
The next option in the menu is timeline. The timeline is a chronological list of events recorded on all your cameras. Events will last in cloud storage for 30 days. Once an event has reached 30 days, it will automatically be deleted. If you wish to save an event you can do so from the timeline by clicking on that event and then exporting it.
The icon in the center of the menu will take you to see live view of your cameras. You can switch between cameras, view the image full screen on your device, as well as zoom or pan the camera, depending on which camera model you have. Tap the white X in the top right corner to exit live view.
To the right of the live view icon on the menu bar you will see alarms. This page allows you to arm and disarm your cameras. Continue down to alarm how-to for more information on alarms.
Lastly, in the bottom right you can click “more” to view additional options for your account.
Once you have created an alarm and added your cameras to it, you can either arm it automatically or manually. On the alarms page you will see three circles that say auto arm, arm, and disarm. Use these three buttons to select how you wish to arm them.
When the alarm is set on auto-arm, it will use your phone’s location to automatically arm the cameras when you leave your home. When you return home, the alarm will once again use your phone’s location to automatically disarm. You can also program in a time schedule for the cameras to arm and disarm automatically.
Use the arm and disarm buttons if you wish to change the alarm status manually. If you have them set on arm, the cameras will stay armed at all times until you change it to disarm or auto-arm.
Events are recorded every time one of the cameras detects any motion, even when they are disarmed. You won’t receive any notifications for these events when the cameras are disarmed. To view events go to your cameras page, and click on each camera to view events for that camera.
You will only receive alert notifications on your phone when the cameras are armed and a person is detected. Our software uses human recognition to detect when someone is present, and the alert will come through to your device in about 2 minutes or less. If the camera picks up anyone while the cameras are armed, be it yourself, your spouse, the mailman, or a burglar, you will receive an alert.
To change your notification settings, go to the alarms page, and then click the gray settings gear for that alarm. Under settings, click notifications. You can adjust your notifications to come in as emails, text messages, or phone calls. You can also change the alert tone to be either a bell or a siren noise.
If you are the only person you want to be able to access the cameras, you can skip this step.
If you want a spouse or other family member to have access to the cameras, you will need to share each camera with them. To do this, go to your cameras page, click on the settings gear for your first camera, then click share camera and enter the person’s email address. You will need to repeat this step for each camera that you wish to share.
If you want them to also receive alerts, you will need to share the alarm as well. Go to the alarms page, click the settings gear, then click share users and type their email address in once again.
The person you are sharing with with will also need to download the Cammy app and set up a password for their email address. On the login page of the app they will enter their email address, then click recover password to set up a password for their account. When they login, they will have full access to view whichever cameras you have shared with them.
If you want to view your cameras on more than one device, such as a phone and a tablet, you will need to set one as the secondary device. Whichever device you want to use to track your location should be the primary device, usually your cell phone.
To set one as the secondary device go to the alarms page, click on the gray settings gear for the alarm, scroll down to the very bottom and click on “use this device’s location.” Select “no” for the tablet or whichever device you want to be secondary.
The support rep who helped you on the day of your install may have already had you write down the camera credentials. If not, please follow these steps to take down the camera credentials. Go to your cameras page, click the settings gear for your first camera, click troubleshooting, then click view camera credentials. You will see a username and password there. Take a minute to write those down and keep it somewhere safe.
